Trigger Warning: Baby Loss
Stillbirth Stories is a powerful audio archive supported by the Wellcome Trust and Tommy's. It presents a unique and moving collection of interviews with parents and clinicians, sharing their deeply personal experiences of stillbirth. As part of this project, I was commissioned to direct and animate one of a series of films titled How to Give Support — a selection of audio clips drawn from interviews conducted with parents, reflecting on their experiences during this profoundly painful time.
The subject matter required a highly sensitive and thoughtful approach. The film was intended as a resource for other bereaved parents and their close families who might be facing a similar loss. All six commissioned films were released in Autumn 2018 as part of a wider awareness campaign.
How to Give Support was one of eight animated films created for The Baby Loss Series — a project developed by Tommy's Baby Charity in partnership with Stillbirth Stories. The series featured real voices and personal stories from parents who had experienced the loss of a baby.
